Thousand Islands Habitat for Humanity is getting $35,000 in grants to help with new programs.
Habitat fixes up and builds new homes for families in Jefferson and Lewis counties.
The organization is receiving $25,000 to help it open a ReStore, which will be a place to collect donations of home improvement materials, furniture and other household needs.
The organization will then sell the items to raise money.
The grant is coming from the Northern New York Community Foundation, which also granted Habitat $10,000 to establish an endowment fund.
